Cool Contemporary

The juxtaposition between modern design and warm furnishings gives this primary home in Menlo Park a clean, welcoming vibe. Symmetrically driven, the home needed to be highly functional for the family of 5. The family, having a love for entertaining and indoor/outdoor living, wanted to create large spaces for hosting holiday gatherings, charitable benefits and backyard soirees, equipped with heat lamps and mohair drapery to keep the warmth in all year round. We worked with an all star team from Backen Gillam and Northwall Builders. Backen Gillam, known for their large, architectural scale, created huge expanses of pocket steel and glass windows to bring the outside in. Having the groundwork laid out, we created a soothing color palette and added warmth by incorporating wood planking throughout the entire interior space and a formal dining room adorned with a library, fireplace and piano for cozy culinary evenings.
